The problem we couldn't outsource
Before Torro, we ran a full-service short-term rental company in Zagreb. For five years, we managed cleaning teams, coordinated maintenance across dozens of apartments, and navigated the daily chaos of turnovers — the hard way.
We tried everything on the market: spreadsheets, WhatsApp groups, generic property management software. None of it was built for the operational reality of running a rental team day-to-day. The tools were built for booking management, not operations. There was a gap, and nobody was filling it.
So we built our own
We started building an internal tool to handle what no off-the-shelf product could: automatic job creation from our PMS, smart assignment to the right cleaner, real-time visibility, and a mobile-first view for field staff who don't have time for complex software.
It worked. Monday mornings went from hours of coordination to opening a dashboard and seeing everything already organised. We knew we had something other managers needed too.
Built by operators, for operators
Torro isn't built by software engineers who read about the vacation rental industry. It's built by people who lived it. We know what it's like to have 15 same-day turnovers, a cleaner who didn't show up, a maintenance issue reported at checkout, and no clear picture of what's happening across your properties.
After five years running the agency, we turned our full focus to making Torro a product that any short-term rental manager could use. Because if we had this when we started, our operation would have looked very different.
